I laughed when we got a package this summer from Hallmark packed with Fall and Halloween fun. THAT got the kids planning their costumes and wanting to decorate the house. Now that it is OFFICIALLY Fall, I am more than happy to start with the decorations and trick or treat planning, and love that Hallmark has suck fun stuff.
My husband loves Halloween but a lot of the decorations can be a little too scary for our Tara, Hallmark makes Halloween decorating fun for the whole family and I really enjoy Tara filing our house with ‘spooky’ stuff.
I love this magic mirror.
However, this Pics n Props kit has been a total blast around here. If you are planning a Halloween party for any ages, this kit is for you. There is a spooky photo back drop, and it is FILLED with crazy masks and hats. Sadly my hard drive crash ate the photos I had to share with you folks, but by Halloween we will have more.
And what is Halloween without Charlie Brown. Hallmark is your source for all things CUTE when it comes to Charlie Brown.
So. What are your kids going to be for Halloween? So far we have Tara as Pirate, Caity is now being a ‘Vampire Hunter,’ and not sure about Adam….I think he has some grand plans for being a Pokémon.
Another question for parents…..at what age do your kids trick or treat without you? I have supervised their trecks through the ‘hood so far and sometimes allow Adam to go off for a bit with some of his friends when Tara and Caity are all done. But being that Grade 6 seems to be the year of ‘I do everything WITHOUT my family,’ I am wondering what his plans are for all of that. We are lucky when it comes to safety on Halloween night because we live in a townhouse complex surrounded by other townhouse complexes, so I think we have a bit of a leg up on the idea of freedom for the kids rather than those of you living on a normal street. However, I also know what a bunch of preteens can get up to unsupervised and while I trust him, I don’t trust some of his buddies.
How far does trust go on Halloween?
Also, what I am I going to wear?

I wouldn’t have thought of Hallmark for Halloween decorations but now I’ll definitely be checking them out. We don’t decorate much for Halloween – just lots of pumpkins and tonnes of homemade art projects – because I don’t like all the scary stuff in the stores and there’s not much else out there. But now I can look forward to sprucing things up a bit this year!
No idea about the on-your-own thing. I can barely wrap my head around the fact that no one is double-checking to see if my oldest finished his lunch at school so trick-or-treating on one’s own is completely beyond my comprehension. 🙂

My kids are still too young to go trick-or-treating alone, but it’s definitely something to think/worry about. We don’t usually decorate for Halloween, but those are some good ideas, thanks!
