These days about 98 % of movies for and about kids are based on books. Getting your kids books turned into films seems to be just about the only reason many authors are writing young adult books. There are lots of great one’s out there, but there are a few stinkers too. I also love the idea of original content when it comes to family friendly film. Thus I was very happy to see an email from the director of this hopefully to be filmed ‘concept’ called ‘The Ferret Squad.‘
Director Allison Parker is working on bringing the screenplay of Sally Meyer to life. She has put together an incredible cast of some of our best Canadian talent for this film, including Gabrielle Rose, Blu Mankuma and Falcor the Ferret. The premise of The Ferret Squad is about a boy(Max) and his pet (a rescued ferret named Digger). Max and Digger’s time together is doomed when his family relocates to California, a state where having a ferret as a pet is illegal. Max sneaks Digger with him and finds discovers the Ferret Squad, a group of likewise impassioned kids who rescue and hide ferrets from death.
