Being that is was such a nice day, we felt we should be brave.
So we packed up the kids AND the dog and headed down to Stanley Park.
We haven’t seen the devastation in person and WOW. It is shocking. The part our Prospect Point and round to English Bay looks like a nuclear bomb went off. Or Tunguska. Unbelievable. HUGE trees down and smashed into kindling.
We parked near the totem poles and then wandered along the seawall.
Now I use the term ‘wandered’ loosely here as most parents would understand….there IS no casual wandering when supervising a dog, a two year old and a four year old. The radar is going constantly and I had to keep a tight reign on Callie as she hasn’t been in many busy situations and was totally freaking out.
Apparently in line skaters are evil.
The funniest was overhearing people muttering about ‘aggressive dogs’ when we know what a total pussycat she really is. But her hackles DO go up and with her brindle colour, she LOOKs fierce.
We need a sign saying that she is just faking it.
To finish the day off we went to the drive in White Spot on West Broadway. The kids had never done that and were totally boggled by the waitress bringing our food on a long tray that fit over them.
They did really good and ate their dinner and Callie was kept happy by a steady stream of fries heading her way.
