Hot Neighbour Sex!

I forgot this!

As Adam and I were heading back into the house after his Soccer practice yesterday am, we heard a strange noise coming from our neighbors laundry room - our neighbor actually sleeps in there as she rents out one room and the other is for her kids.    Her boyfriend was in town and the kids were at their dads.

Anyway…we hear the strange ululation and Adam happily exclaims: “Hey! That is ….’s mom!!!”

I burst out laughing and hurry us into the house!

I wonder if she heard?

Fun to be Had, Despite All

Because the sun was shining on Saturday, we decided to try to have some fun and took the kids down to the Ocean Concrete Open House, down at Granville Island - even managed to find parking!

Adam loved it.  Caity wasn’t impressed and didn’t even want to climb on all the big trucks and diggers.

After that we wandered down to the market and waterfront for ice cream and some fish and chips.

Isn’t that the cutest picture?

Oh and then there is this..

This is them waiting for their sushi order on Main.   Are we not so freakin hip and cool parents???

We popped into ‘Granville Eyeland,’ this nice eye glasses store so Crunchy Husband could check them out.  Instead we found some great kids sunglasses for bargain prices!  The kids walked out with glasses, cases,  and the strings to hold them around their necks!  The lady even adjusted them and made sure they fit correctly! The kids were soo impressed.

After all that, we managed to pop in to see CH’s mom at the hospital.  That was a good visit.  We managed to speak to a surgeon there and get some answers.  He was quite positive about her recovery.   He wants her sitting there for six weeks while scar tissue forms around the tear in her heart.  Then he wants to go in and sew it up and send her home.  That cheered everyone up!  AND she is trying to quit smoking too!

We ate our sushi over at her house with CH’s grandma and my BIL.  He is more worried about her as she is old and a bit forgetful.  So they spent the evening making sure she was all set up and safe.  We all want to use this time to plan for her future, get her new eyeglasses and  dentures…..she has been a been a bit martyrish about this stuff and we can all gang up on her and get her all sorted.

Anyway, the outcome was that everyone was breathing a bit easier, as long as CH’s mom does ok for the next while.  Fingers crossed.

Today I am hoping to convince CH to help me with some yard work while it is dry.   I would like to get the yard ready for the spring and be able to sit outside again!

Not Much To Report…

I really don’t want to fill my blog with my teeth gnashings and whining.

It sucks.

The strain and tension suck.

The fighting sucks.

CH and I snap at each other.

We are snapping at the kids. The kids are snapping at us.

The kids are wigging out due to the all the tension in the air.

What a great way to live life.

The doctors appear to have NO prognosis for CH’s mom…cept that the tear in her heart is bigger and they don’t really know what to do or what will happen to her. So she sits in the hospital all groggy from blood thinners and scared out of her mind.
And life is supposed to continue. CH is supposed to work. I am supposed to keep up with the kids and household. Our taxes are not done yet, nobody feels like even thinking about it. I should start planning Adams birthday next month.

Is this going to be it for the next little while?

How can our family survive this?

CH is hoping to take the kids down to see their Nana. Cheer her up a bit. He wants his grandma to come and stay here tonight. That is fine. It will take her mind of her daughter. I will have to drink heavily to survive the experience.

I just hate this.We just did all this heartache two years ago when CH’s dad was ill. He didn’t make it. Adam still talks about missing his poppa.

This really sucks.

Back Links and Technorati

So on Word Press, the dashboard had this handy list of back links….people who were currently linking back to your site.

I loved this feature. It made me feel popular.

It is not working right now.

Apparently it is Technorati’s fault but I have seen no mention on their site about it.

All I know is that I miss it.

Are y’all talkin about me!?

I love that you can vote and vote and vote….

I wasn’t going to touch the whole thing with a barge pole to tell the truth…I don’t like things that I have to register for….but it is very addictive!

Hipsters or Bad Parent?

Sarah over at the Goon Squad has been pondering this conundrum lately and it came up today with our family…at the mall.

We had to take care of a couple of errands at the mall - one being getting a refund from ticketmaster - and two being Crunchy Husband paying his speeding ticket (snicker).

Fun was to be had.  The kids finally got to ride the mall choo choo and it was nice to see Crunchy Husband relaxing and having a laugh.

On our treck we passed an arcade.

Now, arcades are a bit nostalgic for CH and I.  We spent many a romantic evening with a pile of quarters in front of us playing the Terminator Shootem up game. Over and Over.  Sue me. I like shooting things.

The kids were tugging us towards it with much ‘What is that!?’ exclamations.

All our eyes were drawn to the game with two big pulse rifles attached.  It was an Aliens game.  An Aliens game that let you shoot pulse rifles.

ooooooh.

We had to play.

We had to pretend to let Adam play.

ooooooh.

It was fun.

What sad sack parents play shootem up Aliens games with their kids?

Call the child services now.

Oh and then CH bought Adam a retro Transformer toy.

Yah.

Oh and speaking of alterna parents…I am reading ‘Punk Rock Dad’  by Jim Lindberg.   I will be reviewing it soon and am really enjoying it….and I didn’t think I would.

Life at the House of Crunch…

sort of sucks right now.

It doesn’t help that I am getting over some weird cold that hit on Sunday.

It doesn’t help that I am feeling a tad burnt out with footing the majority of duties surrounding kids and household.

It doesn’t help that if my MIL is going to be in the hospital (again) for a long time, that our routine is going to suck.

So far my BIL has been going down there during the day to see his mom.  He has been looking after the Granny too.    We have offered to help with housework and groceries.

Crunchy Husband has been getting up around 10ish and working straight through till he heads down for the evening shift at the hospital at around 6 ish.  He comes in late in the evening and carries on with any other work before hitting the sack.

Not really fun.

Not really something that is going to work long term.

Not fun when we have no clue really what is going on except that the doctors say she does need surgery and the surgery is 50/50.   We just don’t know when and what state she will be in for the rest of her life.

But we do need to carry on.   We have taxes to get done.  We need to plan for Adams birthday next month.

That family.

They have spent so much time in hospitals.  First for their dad and now over and over again for their mom.

One good thing.  We finally got our new furniture delivered…well two bits anyway.  And we want to order another end table as we really like it.  We were worried that the HUGE leather ottoman would be too big in our living room space, but it actually works and the kids  are happy because the play cars all over it.

I will get some photos soon!

It is a dark and rainy day…but the air smells fresh.  Filled with the scent of greenery and blossom.  We are hoping to hit the library today and I will take Callie for a nice walk.

If my headache stays away.

I hate having a cold.  I don’t like to drink coffee when I am sick, but then the caffeine withdrawal kicks in and I get headachy.  Quite pathetic.

Now I have to go call my mom.  I was a bit em…snarky with her when she called last night.

My bad.

This is a bit complicated for people like me

Skittles has tagged me with this one! Technorati will love all the new links.

This is Technorati Link Love Meme.

1. Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph. This isn’t a suggestion; you need to break up the duplicate content. Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2. Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to your blog. If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

3. Take the adds from the blog that added you and place all of them in the “Originals” list. Add at least 1 new blog that you KNOW is using the DO Follow plug-in to the list in the “MY ADDS” section (add no more than 5!). Let the people you’ve added know so that they can keep the list going.

I will add Blog-Op

and Adventures in Motherhood
