or is it just because my meds are working and the sun is shining?
Who knows, they better enjoy it while it lasts!
It is gorgeous here today. A real Spring day. I have been chuckling at the kids because they headed out to the backyard.
Our backyard looks like this:
It ain’t pretty and there is about a 5 x 5 space to play in. The tarp is covering up the pool tote and other toys that were stored in the FRONT yard. I won’t bore you with photos of the hole that is there right now. We have been told that it will be fixed…but I think they are just messing with me.
The plastic fencing is to give the dirt some time to grow into grass. Sigh….
But to hell with it all! The sun is shining! It is warm enough for the back door to be open and the kids are happy.
Oh and check out our future Britney!
My daughter the skank!
We found this outfit at Value Village. I am trying to figure out the odd shape of the child this was made for. The waist is huge (I tucked it into her diaper) and the legs go on forever, but the top was teeny tiny. A squeeze for Caity!

I sit here at my desk, ignoring my undressed and unwashed children.
What I AM thinking about is all the little projects I want to do.
Now that my new computer is working great guns, I can finally edit my home video stuff. Dreams of Best Director awards dance in my head.
Now that I have figured out how my photo printer works, I can finally print some new pics and send them to the relatives. Oooh the power.
Now that I put ALL the photos into one big box, I can finally start to sort them. I have a beautiful ‘Family’ album all ready to go for the special one’s and a really nice Cherry Wood box to hold other photos too. I should actually do proper baby albums for the kids before they turn 17.
The detritus of these ideas lays around my feet at the computer desk.
At least all the stuff hides the unvacuumed carpet.
Adam’s room really needs cleaned out and we did promise to paint ages ago. Granted, I am holding out in the hope that we will move soon.
So the carpets grow crunchier as I sit here deciding which project to tackle next.
Oh yeah, taxes too.
Right, will get on that.

I think I always stay too long.
We spent the afternoon…from about 2 pm to 5:30 pm at a preschool friends place. Is that too long?
Everyone was having a great time. The mom is amazing. Highly educated and had a very interesting life. I loved talking to her. Her kids are great too.
Oh and what do you bring? I brought juice and some easter cookies.
Oh and do you stay and help clean up even if they say don’t worry about it?
I always worry that I am blowing these situations. I am never sure about making new friends for me or my kids.
But at least everyone had fun and it filled up an entire afternoon AND Adam was really well behaved. Though we are wondering what they were doing in the bathroom while the little girl was showing him her collection of dressed….Adam came out and said WE DID NOT KISS!!!  With a bit too much vehemence.

I am seriously considering going this year.
Despite the distance and cost and the fact that Crunchy Hubs plans on attending the Comic Con in San Diego the weekend before.
I think we BOTH need to do non parental stuff. OR have non parental stuff to look forward too.
And adventure where I can meet cool folks and have some fun.
So yah….seriously thinking about it.

It is totally mental here. Insane. From calm to chaos in zero to sixty. I really don’t know how we can keep it together much longer.
Yesterday was nuts. It was a nice day. I got the kids and dog out early for some fresh air and to plan what we were going to do for the rest of the day. Logic said housework, but with the sun shining…screw that.
So I ran into a neighbour who was heading for the Purdy’s Chocolate Factory Open House. I had forgotten about it. So I suggested it to hubs and he said sure.
We ask the kids and they are all ‘yay.’ Start hauling bikes, etc back in. Adam has a meltdown because he wasn’t ‘done’ playing outside!  Sigh.
Finally get on the road.
Relieved that the line up there is not TOO bad. Kids are happy with all the activity. They love the tour and the free samples.  We buy some for them on the way out, let them play at the little park there and then decide we have to motor as I still need milk and the dog was out loose in the house. Adam has another meltdown. This time over not getting his face painted. By this time it is getting chillly and there is a huge wait for painting.  We dig our heels in and he whines all the way to the car.
Hubs decides to get dinner (take out ) on the way home. Â Kids are happy with that.
Caity dumps her drink all over herself, the floor, chairs, etc.
Mummy goes into major rant about being drudge and cleaning all the time.
We find that the dog peed on the bed.
We go upstairs and start stripping sheets and ask the kids to clean their rooms up…bizarrely they do.
Changing the bed sets me off and I order hubs to Spackle the hole in Adams wall and the one’s in our bedroom window.
I start dusting and reorganizing my bookcases.
I then start on the giant pile of photos and disks beside my bed.
The kids actually love this as there are millions of photos of them.
Adam gets sad because the photos of him as a baby.
Makes me sad too. The memories of being happy and relaxed with my loving little boy instead of tense and angry.
Hubs pops out for milk and then is caught by a neighbour when he returns home.  Adam spy’s him from the window and demands to go out and join him. I say no.
No, because he is just talking to the neighbour and will be right in. Adam insists that he won’t bother them and will ride his bike.
It is 7pm.  I say no again. You are not playing outside now… Daddy isn’t outside for that and will be right in. It is also quite late. Yes, I KNOW it is still light ,but it is late. Sorry.
He freaks.
He hates me. He isn’t my son……and on and on.
Hubs comes in and we go through the whole explanation again.
Adam calms down.
We get Caity to bed.
Hubs then has to have quiet to watch Battlestar. No he does…he HAS to watch and review it for his job.
Adam amazingly calms down and watches it.
He then goes quietly to bed. This too is a rarity.
I breathe.
Hubs asks if he can then head out for a poker game. Â Â Out he goes and I settle down to start editing some home video. Â My computer craps out in the middle of it.
Screen goes dark..no signal it says. I lose everything that I didn’t save.
Seriously…..what on earth did I do wrong in another life or this one?

I hit Value Village the other day and found some outfits for the kids to add to their collection of Halloween/Dress-up gear.  Caity will not take the pink dress off now. Ever.

I have been feeling a tad overwhelmed lately. With kids, with housework, with the bloody rain.
As busy and preoccupied as my hubby was he was worrying about me at the same time. Â So yesterday after my also AWESOME mom took Adam to run errands with her for the afternoon, he packed both of the kids up and went for dinner at his moms.
That meant I could do as I liked. Bed sounded good. Instead I popped out to the mall unfettered by kids and bought a USB cord that I needed for my little photo printer, and THEN….actually tried on clothes without being screamed at. It was great.
So I came home with a dress and a pair of pants that I can’t afford, but really wanted.
When I walked in my best friend had called looking for me and broke through my funk and picked me up and we headed out for a dinner together.
It was great. Food, wine and me rabbiting on.
What a nice break!
And.
It stopped raining.
It is actually sunny today!
