Growing up as child in the UK (Scotland) it becomes pretty clear after many afternoons sitting in old Auntie’s living rooms, that tea (and Orange Pekoe in particular) will pretty much solve any situation a person has to deal with.
The people in my family were not ‘fancy’ tea drinkers and I don’t think anyone actually new what ‘chai’ was, except for being (like the entire British population) eternally grateful for this colonial gem they had acquired from their time in India.
Harris has recently re-launched their classic 120 blend and while I have been told it makes an exceptional chai, we here have been sampling it just brewed simply in my favourite tea pot.
I have to admit that I am a rather lazy tea drinker and us ladies (both daughters love their tea) tend to follow my style. Hence the pot doesn’t get used all that much – except for company and my mom – and we are content with bunging in a tea bag into our favourite cup and going from there.
Pretty much our only requirement is that the water be boiling and that is it.
Harris’s Orange Pekoe comes in nice large bags filled with their Assam tea blend that also includes teas from Kenya and Sri Lanka. The large bags are great and my 12 year old just mentioned that she prefers this blend to our usual brand. There is no bitterness and the taste is smooth and flavourful to the last drop.
Thank you Harris, you have a new young fan who will enjoy your teas for years to come.

I have three tea toddling boys in y house, it would always make me smile when they plug in the kettle. I have not tried Assam Tea but will have to see how they like it.
