I am not sure if people know, but this family sort of LOVES Halloween. From amazing parties when I was young and kid free, to the fun we have with the kids decorating our house inside and out and planning costumes for us all (even DAD when he complies with us). HE loves Halloween, except for the dressing up part. I love to dress up.
We always have a lot of fun and keep adding to our collection of decor and costumes for us to dive into each year.
Thus it was not a hard decision to say yes please when we were asked to join some of our fellow Vancouver bloggers and check out what Value Village has to offer this year. We headed down to the Hastings and Victoria location, which apparently is the oldest of the Value Villages around! The staff their are great, especially the ‘Costume Consultants’ who were a great help to my son who had brought his friend with him to collaborate on a theme. Caity, Tara and I had most of our costumes done before (amazing for me) but needed a few ‘accessories’ to complete our costuming plans.
Halloween is THE holiday for Value Village and they do go all out:
- The stores offer the largest selection of both new and gently-used costumes, accessories and home décor, which means there’s a costume to match every budget.
- Every store has thousands of brand-new, ready-made looks that can easily be paired with pre-loved clothing and accessories that fill the aisles at Value Village for a fraction of their original price.
- The possibilities are endless at Value Village and shoppers never know what they might find. Which makes the staff great to help our imaginations soar.
To encourage you all to check out the Halloween fun at Value Village, we are sharing a chance to win $100 to get all your spooky supplies.

My son has still not quite developed a liking for costumes yet! He loves picking a pumpkin at our local farm. And I love roasting the seeds. Favourites for now 🙂
